The goal is to teach the brain to move the body with more efficiency and less pain.
This is a fascia based movement class, targeting at the soft tissues in the body. The stretching and
movement routines presented in this class are informed by the principles and teachings of Dr. Ida Rolf
who, in the early sixties, developed a method of bodywork which has come to be known as Rolfing. Rolfing
targets the body’s myofascial system (connective tissues network), which supports the skeleton and
organs, determines the direction of muscle action and movement, and give the body its shape.
These lessons are intended to teach an individual how to move better. That means, with more power,
coordination, elegance, grace, ease, effectiveness, creativity, and authenticity. And with less effort, strain,
stress, disorganization, awkwardness, discomfort, and pain.
The lessons focus on teaching the four possible movements of the trunk: flexion, extension, rotation, and
side-bending. These movements are fundamental – they are the foundation on which all other movements
are built. Kicking, throwing, running, walking, standing, sitting, breathing, and reaching all depend vitally on
proper movement of the spine and ribs.
Suitable for ALL fitness level

Hee Tan is a Certified Rolfer™ professionally trained at The Rolf Institute ( www.rolf.org ) Colorado USA.
Apart from the Rolfing bodywork practice, Hee also teaches movement lessons designed to improve coordination and reduce pain. This work is a result of his deep interest in movement practice and the appreciation of body form and function through his Rolfing practice. Having witnessed how simple movement/activities have helped with the rehab of many chronic aches and pain cases, Hee decided to conduct group classes to share the knowledge with any individuals who is keen to learn more about such healthy movement.
